Always fun to tell this story again...
The most memorable celebrity encounter I ever had was with Mick Jagger. I was at a club in Manhattan when word began circulating through the crowd that Jagger was there. I searched the club trying to find him, but came up empty. A few minutes later, I went to the men’s room. While I was at the urinal, someone began using the one next to me. Following time-honored men’s room tradition, I kept my eyes straight again. Suddenly I felt something on my shoulder. The person next to me had his head down on it. Thinking he was some kind of pervert, I turned around angrily and there, just inches away from me, I was staring into the face of Mick Jagger. “And tonight’s mystery guest is…” Jagger laughed. Then he looked at me again and said: “Sorry, mate, I thought you were Keith.” I was never quite sure whether being mistaken for Keith Richards was a compliment or not.
